My name’s Emily Wynn and I fell in love with ceramics in 2019 and haven’t been able to stop. I create multiple different collections that are wheel thrown bottles and handbuilt sculptures.

I create my pieces to enhance the joy and beauty of any room and life it finds its way into. Either for functionality or for pure aesthetic that will bring attraction to the art of ceramics.

Hi there!

  • Crawling Collection

The Crawling collection is created through a process where a molten glaze pulls itself into ‘islands’ of glaze. This is usually by accident when something is wrong with a glaze but when applied correctly produces an oozing effect that compliments the curve of the form and helps the coloured clay pop!

  • Raku Flora.

The Raku Flora collection is created through a process called Raku firing. A traditional Japanese technique that has been altered by western influence where a clear crackle glaze is applied to a white raku clay.

Bisque fired pieces are glazed and put into a raku kiln which reaches 1000 degrees. Then opened while at temperature and placed into a box of combustible materials to achieve the crackling effect.

  • Blue Flora

The Blue Flora collection is created with a mid fired 1200 glaze with Australian clay. Each piece is hand painted with shellac floral patterns that create a resist against the clay. Each piece is then hand sponged to create the raised effect.

  • Powder Blue

The Powder Blue collection is created with a mid fired 1200 glaze. It is a glaze that contains cobalt dioxide that gives the bright random flecks of blue which makes each piece unique and beautiful.

  • Free Form

The Free Form collection was born out of wanting to create something new. Something that still showcased the vase forms but added something a little bit different, something ethereal and free. These pieces are moments where I have had a spontaneous pop of excitement! Adding elements that aim to enchant and uplift the vase forms.

Each piece is made with australian clay and fired in a 1200 glaze, with varying finishes aimed to enhance the final form.

  • Midfire Collection

This Midfire Collection is created with varying types of Amaco glazes, in lots of different layering and concoctions, aiming for bright colourful finishes. All pieces are fired to 1200 and are made using australian clay.

  • Moss Green.

The Moss Green collection is created with a high fired stoneware glaze in a traditional gas kiln. It is a glaze that can create a smooth matte finish when fired in a gas reduction to 1300 degrees. It can go black in thinly applied areas and go blue in thickly applied areas.

It can also create a dark glossy effect if the firing is manipulated to a hotter temperature, as seen in some of the created pieces.

  • Midnight Sky

The Midnight Sky pieces have been created with Keanes black clay fired to 1200 degrees. They are glazed with a special formula that highlights the black clay and can achieve blue and white highlights as well as beautiful pooling effects.
